You live your life through your nervous system. Every single thought, sensation, emotion, movement, and organ function is under the control of your nerves. When it comes to your health of that nervous system, WE DON’T GUESS, WE TEST.
At our office, we utilize state-of-the-art Insight nervous system scans to see how your well your nervous system is functioning. Your scans are a measurement of your nervous system’s adaptability. Your nervous system perceives and adapts to what we call “The 3 T’s,” which are traumas (or physical stress), toxins (or chemical stress), and thoughts (or mental/emotional stress).
When your nervous system can no longer adapt, it is often due to subluxation (spinal misalignment causing nervous system disturbance), which does not allow you or your child to reach your full life potential. Your scans consist of three different parts: Heart Rate Variability, Thermal, and sEMG (surface Electromyography).
sEMG (surface Electromyography)
Nerve signals control the strength and balance of the muscles along your spine. Poor control leads to postural changes and overall exhaustion. We can use sEMG to detect where nerve disturbance is occurring and how well your body is recovering. Different parts of this tell us how organized the information going up into the brain is, how balanced your neuromusculoskeletal system is, and how much energy is flowing through your nervous system up to your brain.
Heart Rate Variability
Heart rate variability is a strategy for measuring the overall stress level of your body at rest and your body’s current capacity to adapt to that stress. When our nervous system has been under stress for long periods of time, our bodies slowly get drained of the resources to cope with that stress. This draining of the body’s reserve capacity can slow the process of healing and restoring function.
Regulating your body’s temperature is a complex and critical function for your brain and the nerves running through your spine. Thermal scans provide an “inside” picture of how your organs and glands are functioning, via your autonomic nervous system. This gives us an insight to any inflammation and irritation to your ears, sinuses, stomach, immune response, lungs, and every other organ that your nervous system controls.
These three tests are compiled into a COREscore, which is essentially a report card of your current state of health. This allows us to measure and observe changes to your health as we progress through your care plan. Once you have reached your health goals, it also helps us ensure that your body continues to function at its highest possible level.
All of these scans are 100% safe for infants, kids, pregnant women, and adults and give us valuable information to see if you or your child can benefit from chiropractic care.
